Mrs S. Thakur –Rajbansi, stated that the plight of South African students , who completed their medical or dental degrees in countries like China and Mauritius must be resolved by the Departments of Health and Higher Education.
These students have faced major stumbling blocks in terms of quotas etc. for entering our limited medical institutions.
Their parents and families have made huge sacrifices to send them overseas.
Hence , on returning , the red –tape frustrating entry into our hospitals must be eased for these much needed skills.
Mrs Rajbansi, is calling on all students facing difficulties to contact her , so that proper extent of the problem can be assessed, allowing the authorities to make informed decisions.
